Mark Hateley Vintage Shirt
This classic jersey has been authentically reproduced to exacting detail.
The material is our unique GOLACRYL™ woven acrylic polyester, identical to the football shirt Mark Hateley wore during the 1984-85 season.
The Rolly Go “Double Arrows” logo and the Scudetto Star are embroidered separately on patches and then stitched onto the shirt, as was done at the time. The No.9 is heat-applied flock material. The sponsor Oscar has been print-painted onto the shirt.
Player shirts from this season differed from replicas as there was a black box around the word Mondadori with a vapour print effect applied. We have authentically replicated this.
Please follow care instructions closely: may shrink if not followed.
Mark Hateley: Attila
The nickname of Mark Hateley during his time in Italy. He may not have been an iconic or a legendary player, but he’s remembered for an iconic goal. Hateley started his career in England playing over 100 hundred games in the top 2 divisions for England before moving to Italy in June 1984 for a £1million fee. It’s probably fair to say that he didn’t perform well in Italy. However, he achieved legend status there after his iconic header in the October 1984 Derby della Madonnina; this was the first time his team had beaten their great rivals in 6 years. His goal left such an impression on rossoneri fans that even 30 years later they hadn't forgotten: in 2016 they created a massive tifo of it under the banner "Sovrastiamoli” (We towered above them). He left Italy in 1987 and went onto play in France, Scotland and England. Read more about his time in Italy here.
